Bio

Dillon Deley and Brandon Stevens were looking for a lead guitarist for Eject when they came across Jared Schaaf, fresh out of My Hero. Though it was short-lived -- as Eject's drummer was planning to move out of town. Realizing that with the addition of Jared, their sound had changed greatly and decided to start fresh, with a new name, new songs, a new attitude, as well as needing a new drummer. Aviary Kings finally came to be in early 2013 when Dillon finally added the hard-hitting drummer, Matt Tyska (the guitarist from Critical Hit) to the group. Armed with a few songs already written with Brandon and Jared, the foursome spent the entirety of spring and early summer working hard at writing more material and polishing what they already had. Drawing influences from classic bands such as the Who, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd, as well as more current acts like Angels and Airwaves, Foo Fighters, Sum 41 and Our Lady Peace. Aviary Kings have created a dynamic sound that can be anywhere from loud and aggressive to soft, ambient or experimental. Their songs, written about day to day life, about humans, or about our universe, with lyrics that reflect the music that surrounds them. Now with a few shows under their belt, they are looking to expand on that, and bring to the audience an energy-filled, fun and exciting stage show that they can be proud of. Aviary Kings are always looking ahead.
