Elle Kay is a Thunder Bay-based singer-songwriter who writes and performs songs conveying personal experience and emotional intent. With piano and voice as her primary instruments, Elle draws from a number of genres including rhythm and blues, rockabilly and folk to create original material with grit and groove. This is her Canadiana. Elle's debut EP 'FOOLS GOLD' was released August 2015 and is available for purchase on Bandcamp. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Nix Records in Thunder Bay, her debut features three original songs: Fools Gold, Unwrapped and Great Depression Song. Born and raised in Toronto, and after completing her art studies at OCAD University, Elle moved to Thunder Bay to continue her education. She quickly became involved in the local music scene as a backup singer and studio musician playing piano and trumpet. Since her solo act debut in 2013, Elle has been busy performing at venues in Thunder Bay and Toronto and is active with her music residency 'Singer-Songwriter Folk Nights' at Beaux Daddy's. Elle can also be found performing on Thunder Bay stages with her two-piece bluesy indie rock band ENGINE HOUSE, as a keys and drums duo featuring her on keys / vox and Harley Curley on drums / vox. ENGINE HOUSE released their anticipated full-length debut in the fall of 2017 and can be purchased through itunes, at shows, and streamed everywhere music is played.
