The Tourist Bureau formed in 2011 and released a debut EP in 2012 entitled Autumn Song, which featured 4 songs that can be best described as guitar-driven folk/ highlighted by 3 part harmony vocals. Carlo Cappello (main singer / songwriter / producer) began writing songs back in high school and formed several bands over the years including False Prophets and Star74, both of which captured the attention of A&R execs in Canada, the US and abroad. Recently, he has been working on a full-length follow-up to The Tourist Bureau's debut EP. The new album will feature a NEW MUSICAL DIRECTION, following in the artistic paths of bands such as U2, The Killers, and 80's New Wave, while drawing from modern artists. Carlo enlisted the help of current bandmates and friends, Adam Sabaz, Enzo and Joe Riccio, Carla Scaffeo, and Henry Suarez in completing the band's performing lineup. The Tourist Bureau's live show has been regarded as an energetic spectacle, with ambient soundscapes, melodic and soaring instrumentals, and powerful vocals. This band lives to perform! With a brand new album and video release under their belts, Thunder Bay's Tourist Bureau are ready for the next big step. "I'm excited for people to hear the songs I've been working on for the past couple of years. It's a new musical direction with a bigger sound and production than my earlier projects." says the band's singer/songwriter, Carlo Cappello. Tourist Bureau began as a two-man project in 2011 when Cappello enlisted the help of long-time bandmate drummer, Joe Riccio. The duo released a four song EP and have been slowly building up the band's roster while changing their sound in the process. "We knew that we were going to to need more musicians to pull of the new songs live" notes Cappello. In 2014, he and Riccio enlisted the help of bassist, Enzo Riccio, vocalist and keyboardist, Carla Scaffeo, lead guitarist, Adam Sabaz, and rhythm guitarist, Henry Suarez. Tourist Bureau isn't Cappello's first musical project either. He is perhaps best remembered for early 2000 pop-rock band, False Prophets whose single "Overwhelmed" saw consistent rotation on college and mainstream radio across Canada and the US. After the 'Prophets' success, Cappello released a side project under the name of Star74 and saw success with the album, Drive and it's popular single, "Believe", which received international rotation on mainstream and internet radio stations. Star74's second album, Satellites was released in 2007, which saw its release, "Bringing Me Down" receive respectable radio play. Tourist Bureau's new album, St. Patricks Square consists of 11 songs whose musical style can be described as "the musical offspring of U2, The Killers, Muse, Foo Fighters and Oasis" according to Cappello. St. Patricks Square is currently available for pre-order on iTunes and will be released in full on June 16, 2015.
