MAYHEMINGWAYS:

Mayhemingways are an eclectic and full-sounding duo from the musical hotbed of Peterborough, Ontario. They describe their sound as fuzz-folk with bluegrass, Cajun, and Celtic influences. Lead singer Benj Rowland plays accordion, banjo, guitar and tenor guitar while holding down the bass with foot pedals. Josh Fewings plays drums, percussion and adds back-up vocals.

In 2017 they completed a cross-Canada tour with Joel Plaskett and his father Bill, as their opening act and backing band. Including stops at The National Arts Centre in Ottawa and the famed Massey Hall in Toronto. Later this year they will once again tour their country and will also head to Europe for the first time in October and November.

“Mind-bending and original music with deep roots in the tradition of dark North American folk.” -Tom Wilson of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings & Lee Harvey Osmond.

Mayhemingways tour Canada as much as they can. Like bands of old, rolling down highways and back roads, building an old school fan base across the nation.

Their first full-length album “Hunter St Blues” was released Spring 2016 and was produced and engineered in Nanton, AB by Steve Loree (Ian Tyson, Corb Lund, Petunia). The album followed up to their first EP from 2013 engineered by James McKenty (Blue Rodeo, Cuff the Duke, The Weber Brothers) at old school house near Peterborough.

GREENBANK:

They’ve been referred to as “the denim disasters” and described as “…that band from Almost Famous” but through thick and thin north Ontario folk-rockers Greenbank have always been anything but boring. With their rag-tag band in tow, songwriters Jimmy Breslin and Craig Smyth have been winning over audiences across the country with their unique brand of down-home, harmony infused, old school folk-rock songs.

The band’s first album Money Machine (2015), a sarcastic observation of societies destructive obsession with profits hit the number one spot on Thunder Bay radio station CILU 102.1’s top 20 list and stayed there for five weeks following its release. The co-headlined Money Machine release tour with Nick Sherman included 35 performances across Canada with notable stops at the Pan Am Games, Ottawa Blues Festival, Live From the Rock Folk Festival and the Harmony of Nations Festival. The first single ‘Live Off The Land’ has been played nationally on CBC Radio 1.
