Wilde Tales is a fun for all-ages adaptation of the Happy Prince and Other Tales by Oscar Wilde – written and performed by youth, for youth.
The garden of the Selfish Giant is the setting for Wilde Tales, a place where winter lays claim and the season’s do not change after the Giant selfishly drives the children playing there away. Within the garden is a tree who is our guide throughout the play. A group of friends accidently find the garden, covered in winter. One of the children, Oscar, tells the others tales about the things he finds in the garden. As each tale is told, the presence of the children causes winter to melt away and the seasons come back in turn. In the end the Giant and the garden find peace in the joy and discovery brought by the four friends.
